Ellen Valentino is originally from Hempstead, NY (Long Island if you prefer). As the daughter of an artist (my father) art was always a part of her life and to be a painter had always been her second ambition. Her first ambition was to be a jockey and although she never quite attained that goal she spent 7 years as an exercise rider at Belmont Park. In pursuit of her second ambition she became a scenic artist/mural painter painting sets, scenery, and backgrounds for theatre, TV, movies, and museum exhibitions.
Now retired she lives in Aiken SC, volunteering at the Aiken Equine Rescue and painting pet portraits, especially horses and dogs.
